Black River Gorges
With its untouched forest and unique bird life (the Pink Pigeon, the Echo Parakeet and the Mauritius Kestrel; all very rare species), you will discover Mauritius the way it was before civilization.
Pamplemousses botanic garden
Definitely the most famous tropical botanic garden with hundreds of plants. The water-lilies Victoria Amazonica and the manor house Château de Mon Plaisir (1735) cannot be missed. The garden's most pretigious plant, the Talipot palm, flourishes only every sixty years and dies afterwards.

Grand Bassin
Beyond La Marie and Mare-aux-Vacoas is found one of the two natural lakes of Mauritius. It rests within the crater of an extinct volcano. Ganga Talao is an important pilgrimage site and many Mauritians of the Hindu faith walk there during the Maha Shivaratri festival or the night fasting dedicated to Shiva.

Deep Sea Fishing
Mauritius is one of the world's top fishing spots for blue marlin. Big game fishing is practised throughout the year in Mauritius although the best season for marlin is from October to April.

Diving
Enjoy diving in waters warmer than 30° C, choosing among a huge variety of diving-sites and having the great opportunity to meet tropical fish. Courses are offered all around the island in one of the numerous diving-centers. Depending on the diving-center, courses in PADI, CMAS or NAUI are offered.
